Marc Marquez triumphed in the thrilling 2025 Argentina Grand Prix, securing his 90th career victory and joining Angel Nieto in third place on the all-time wins list. Despite early challenges and fierce competition from his younger brother, Alex Marquez, Marc powered through to claim the win, further extending his championship lead. The race saw surprising performances from Franco Morbidelli and a dramatic battle for positions throughout the field.

Marc Marquez wins a thrilling 2025 Argentina Grand Prix, beating his younger brother Alex Marquez and taking his 90th career victory. This victory puts him in third place on the all-time list, alongside legend Angel Nieto.

Marc was the favorite to win from Friday, after he secured pole position and won the sprint race without any problem. However, the race wasn’t easy. His brother Alex managed to take the lead when Marc made a mistake early in the race. Alex then stayed ahead for the majority of the race, but Marc fought back and managed to overtake him on lap 21, building a gap of 1.3s.

This victory creates an even bigger point gap between Marc and Alex in the championship, now at 16 points.

Franco Morbidelli surprised as he finished third and stood on the podium for the first time since 2021. Francesco Bagnaia finished fourth.

At the start, Marc took the lead from pole, even though it looked like his brother Alex had a much better start. Marc was followed by Alex and Bagnaia, who tried to overtake Alex but ran wide. This battle gave Marc an early advantage, yet he made a mistake on lap four, running wide at Turn 1 and allowing his brother to take the lead.

Alex then stayed ahead for 17 laps, forcing Marc to fight extra hard. Marc almost had a crash at Turn 11 on lap 15, but he stayed on his bike. Marc tried to take the lead at Turn 5 but went too deep. On lap 21, he made a clean overtake and quickly built the gap.

Morbidelli tried to catch the leaders but couldn’t, with Bagnaia closing in on him. However, Bagnaia couldn’t overtake him.

Fabio Di Giannantonio passed Johann Zarco on the last lap to take fifth place. Brad Binder finished seventh.

Rookie Ai Ogura made an impressive comeback from 15th to finish in 8th. Pedro Acosta and Joan Mir rounded out the top 10.

Luca Marini took 11th, followed by Alex Rins, Maverick Vinales, Jack Miller, and Fabio Quartararo, who took the final points position.

Quartararo’s race was tough from the start after Marco Bezzecchi hit him from behind at Turn 1 on the first lap, leading to Bezzecchi crashing while Quartararo managed to stay on his bike but lost positions.

Another crash happened on lap two when Enea Bastianini collided with Raul Fernandez, for which Fernandez got a long lap penalty.
